A Bargain

I was once asked if I could have anything in the world and money was not an issue what would it be? My answer was simple. "I shop for the thrill of getting a bargain," It does not matter what it is. I want to know that I got 'A deal." (It threw the pyramid, get rich quick theory right out of the window for this person.)

I consider myself frugal and delight in the sheer hunt itself. I saw this lovely lamp at Target and admired it, even pictured it in my home. but I was not about to spend full price for it. So as I was just roaming through the Goodwill last week I was stopped in my track. I could not believe my eyes, my pulse grew faint, my heart began to race and I heard a choir singing "AHHHHH". I gasped... The lamp, This one, for 60% less then Target. I was beside myself, asking the sales person if it worked. It did! Long story short, It found its frugal happy owner. I love it and appreciate it much more than if I would have paid full price for it. It was a Bargain.

A Cherished Day

This Is Cindy, My long lost friend. We lost contact many yrs ago and bumped into each other recently. So today we got together.

We sat and talked and talked and talked ...

We laughed till our stomachs hurt reminiscing about the good times we had.

We had lunch and shared dessert.

But mostly just connecting at the heart.

Live In The Moment

Yesterday we had dinner with some friends who live out in Cibolo. Its way out in the boonie's. They live on open land. Which is uheard of to a city girl. I just wanted to break out in song, singing "Wide Open Spaces" by the Dixie Chicks.

They had chickens who live in a chicken coop! I had to go out and capture this moment. I never knew anyone who had chickens. (They sent us home with a dozen eggs... from their hen.)

And Horses too. Dont know if I could give up not being close to a Target or Walmart or a Ross- dress for less, to live way out here, but it sure is peaceful. I took it all in.

Letter Project

I like to put these large letters in a gift basket for baby shower gift, along with other baby items. They are a cinch to create.

All you need is a cardboard letter, white paint, and some pretty scrapbook paper.

First paint it all white, front and back.

Then you trace pretty paper and glue onto the front.

Secret addiction

I have talked alot about a "cup of tea" and it is a good thing. But I live in Texas and to be realistic I must speak of a good ole southern glass of iced Tea. Though I could have shown you a glass they serve in a restaurant, I must admit my secret addiction. (because a 16 oz just wont do for the scorching heat here.) I run through the Sonic drive thru almost every day, their crushed ice is key to a cold iced tea. Oow, Ahh, nothing else hits the spot and brings a smile like a 32 oz Sonic iced tea.

Happy Father's Day

My husband and I took my dad and mom to Six Flags fiesta Texas. We had a blast. He wanted to see all the show's and rode some water rides. He even rode the Rattler (at his age... He is a Superman) He was insistant on wearing his hat when goes out. He is just like I remember my grandpa used to be! He is a minnie Mike Arcos.

Queen for the day

One of my fondest memories when I was a child was our birthday. On the day of your birthday, my mother always treated us like we were "queen for the day" She had the whole family treating you like royalty. Our siblings had to wait on us hand and foot, no matter what, like they were our servants. We got to celebrate anyway we chose. Eat at our favorite place, do anything we wanted and every body had to do as we requested. (with-in reason) Oh, and nobody was allowed to get upset with them on that day. It was great. To this day we still do this for each other. Today was my mom's birthday. SHE was "Queen for the day"

Gift Tags Project

Today I made gift tags. First I cut tags out of pretty scrapbook paper. (the heavier paper)

Then I punched a hole in the top.

Embellished with rick rack, ribbon and sparkly stickers.

Then I attached ribbon at the top.

And there you have it, pretty gift tags. Have a lovely week :)

Saturday

Good morning Saturday! The day hold loads of possibilities. Places to go and people to see. Yard sales, flea markets, relaxing in the sun, going to the movies, live music, lunch friends and family. A Creative Mind

For me, "To Create" is like taking a breath of air. Creativity is always spilling out of me. My mind is always dreaming, connecting, full of ideas. Summer

As summer beckons, thoughts of a lazy carefree days are on our minds. Today was the last day of school AND a special day for us to celebrate... my husbands birthday. My parents gave him a season pass to Fiesta Texas. So we grabbed breakfast and headed out. We had a blast, mostly due to a breezy, uncrowded , no lines day at the park. He rode all the rides with no wait. This picture was taken while we rode the train around the park. A day well spent, in an amusement park. A wonderful start for the summer.
