The bookstore

Though the bookstore used to be an activity we did due to being low on funds, it has continued to be an enjoyable way to relax on the weekend. I love the ambiance - the sound of the cappachino machine, the aroma's of good coffee and place people go to study, get together and enjoy in conversation. There are so many books and magazines just waiting to be opened as you make your choice. So much information, ideas and inspiration. and all this with a cup of tea and a Godiva chocolate cup-cake. You just cant beat this economical way to spend the day.

Endless possibilities

Found these sweet bottles at Hobby Lobby.
Then I saw this picture/advertisement in a magazine. And there it was ... one of my sweet bottles.
Don't exactly know what I will do with them, but the possibilities are endless.

A kindred spirit

y

Sometimes when you meet someone you instantly know you are like minded. When I was passing this vendor at Roundtop, I was drawn to her style. Loved it. She was packing up and I saw her coming out of her trailer (called the Bliss lounge!) I asked her if I could take a pic with her in it. Really, I am not weird. I wanted to post this on my blog because it was just all so pretty and way cool. I told her I had a blog, she said she did too! when I told her my blog address, she said "great name", then handed me her card with her blog name... vintagebliss.typepad.com
Check it out. she proceeded to let me see the inside of the bliss lounge. So chic. Thought I'd share the pic's :)

Make the world a better place

What do you bring to the table? We each have gifts and talents meant to share with others in the world around us. Spread love, live fully, share grace. Smile; someone you pass might need a little cheer, let a car in traffic, pay for the person behind you in the drive thru. Bake a cake, send a card, hug a friend, welcome a stranger.
The world is a better place because you are in it :)

Be yourself

Being somewhat of a free spirit, it shocks me how comfortable people are with being like everybody else. Thinking the same, feeling the same, wanting the same things in life. Being in the majority is over rated. Though standing up for who you are and stepping off the beaten path can be unpopular it free's you to be Who you really are and not who people expect you to be.
Cut those strings that control who you really are and be true to yourself. Walk off that path everyone is on. Make your own path!
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. - E.E Cummings

A day spent in simple pleasures

After a fun busy week all I wanted to do was relax "in my home." My husband was watching the game so I was free to fill my day in simple pleasure's. Slipping off my flip flops I felt the plush cool grass between my toes. Laying on the chase outside I soaked in the sun on this beautiful breezy day. As read one of my favorite magazines, sipping a glass of fresh lemon-aid the warm wind blew softly. Then it hit me... Peace joy and contentment spilled out of me. Feeling the grass beneath my feet, the sun upon my face and the wind in my hair - These were 'Simple pleasures" They filled my senses and they didn't cost me, I just had to notice and appreciate them. I ended my day baking these cup-cakes for a friend. Such a delightful way to end a busy week.
Take time to relax this week. Take note of the simple pleasures around you, they are free.

Weekend's to remember

My Aunt Laura and I have been to Roundtop together at least half a dozen times together and each time we experience bliss in the joy of shopping, but not just any shopping. Shopping with a loved one cannot be beat and the memories last beyond the things we purchased. These are the cherished moments of life. Cherish every moment shared with a loved one :)
Life gives us brief moments with another... but sometimes in the brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime...

And speaking from experience, Iv shopped here both ways and it is WAY fun with just the girls. Part 2 tomorrow.

Life is n session

I am just as guilty of procrastinating as anyone else. I have put off decorating my home for 6 months now. Some of it due to time some due to I have to really put my creative cap on and unsure of my choices so I make "none." Not willing to commit to a style, a color. In turn ive had to look at blank walls. So Ive decide to get a move on it. This is my first purchase. This ottoman/coffee table. I went back 3x before I just took the plunge and bought it. Looking forward to adding the decor now.
Dont be afraid to begin. A project, A relationship, A journey... Life is Session!
For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. ~Fr. Springtime Awakening

A Blooming tree !
... New sprouts of glory on my tree today :)
...And Blue skies. Spring is in the Air. Everything is so fresh and new. A new season full of love and joy is upon us. Take time to take notice of the budding trees and blooming flowers. Give yourself permission to start something new!

Flowers :)

Flowers really do Intoxicate me. - Vita Sackville West
Lovely flowers! I made the executive decision to -"buy flowers"today. What a good choice. Flowers bring any home such joy. And why would I want to deprive my home of such luxuries? Who cares how my closet's look? (Who's looking anyway...MOM get out of there) My guests are met with happiness and joy the moment they step in. So Maybe I will get around to organizing my closets tomorrow... and maybe NOT.
Do something that makes you happy tomorrow. Life is too short to worry about closets:)

Live in the moment

Today the kids were playing outside with sidewalk chalk. Though all the teachers were excited of the well deserved up coming spring break the children were unaware. They just float with the rhythm that their world consists of. Some of their lives full of love and hugs others full of strife and hardships. But children are so resilient. They live in the moment. Though the night before might have brought chaos, confusion and worry, the structure and security of going to school provides them with a sense of feeling safe, knowing they will be fed and knowing they will be seen... heard.
In the beginning of the year, a child in my class asked each morning with great concern, "Did I miss it? Did I miss breakfast? As I reassured him each morning until he stopped asking I thought to my self, "Wow I worry about this and that, and this child worries about his next meal."
Some things we might take for granted as basic for others is not.Count your Blessings, Make a difference in your community( be a mentor, volunteer at a shelter, be a big brother or sister) and Live in the moment.

Photography

Look at this photography. Beautiful. I aspire to someday learn to capture the ordinary things in an everyday life and turn them into such beauty. These photos were taken by Alicia Bock.

The sun was out and so were we! How could you stay indoors on a day like today? These are pic's of our stroll to Milburger's Nursery on 1604 and Bulverde. I did find out it was too early to plant a garden and too late to plant paper whites. But he experience itself was worth it. Hope all had a lovely weekend.
