Sisterhood

This is a project I started for my sister. She is two years younger than me and we are close. She lives in California with her husband and son Jakob. We are alike in ways like we love to shop, to decorate and eat at cool restaurants. We grew up together and lived together as adults- once in San Antonio and once I moved to Los Angeles and lived with them for a spell - but... Not for long. I am a Texas girl. That is one way we are different. She sings, is a good cook and is great at planning, like vacations and entertaining. I am creative, quiet and a good listener and encourager. She is always on the go. I love to be on the go but I need my down time.We see each other once a year, sometime two if we are lucky. I love her and wish we'd have more time to spend together. We both love God, family and ... Target on a sunday. And we both share a love and zest for life. Maybe someday I will finish this project for her. We all may not have a sister but have friends who are as dear as a sister. Sisterhood is a blessing.

Delight in Simple Things

My neighbors plant bloomed a single yellow flower. I noticed it right away because I knew it was not there the day before. I don't know how long it will stay but plan to admire it each time I pass. Take notice of the beauty around you each day. It will give you a sense of wonder and joy for just being alive.

fresh Inspiration

Well, I have seemed to find inspiration again. Sometimes I have felt as though I lose my vision for a while, my purpose, my way. But lately I feel as though the light has shown through. Ive been inspired. Why now? What's different, I ask myself? I know... I feel loved. I feel like I belong somewhere. People who genuinely care about me. My husband, my family, my friends. When I feel loved, I feel like I can conquer the world, make a difference, handle the unknown.

A Tribute To My Mother

As a child she was my nurturer , loving me and providing for all my needs.
She was my world.
As a teen she was my encourager, my cheerleader, showing me how to be the best I could be.
She was my teacher.
As an adult she has become my friend, she lifts me up and has become a women whom I admire.
She is my hero.
She is a women that has grown in grace and beauty with a pure soul and a clean heart.
I am proud to call her, my Mother.

Saturday

Just another day of play and relaxation. Arising early with a plan, I set out on my mission. Panera for a chocolate croissant, garage sales, and crafting. Searching for my treasures gave me such pleasure, and though I did not find what I was looking for I did find other things for a deal. So I progressed onward to one of my favorites. Good Will... and I struck Gold. I am so excited I cant wait to share. Stay tuned as I turn some one's castoffs into into something beautiful. I did not have time to put it all together today but will show you step by step... On Monday :)
P.S.
Don't forget to celebrate your Mother tomorrow.

A pretty slip

A Slip: usually made of a smooth and slippery fabric such as silk, satin, polyester, nylon, or cotton. They are often decorated with lace at the edges and hem, and are typically worn over more intimate undergarments. Slips are also worn for modesty under translucent outer garments.
This slip was at Roundtop Antique show. Slips were all the rage. Very pretty feminine and decorative, the more embellished the better.

Why blog?

The minute I entered into the blogesphere world my eye's were opened and amazed. All the beautiful, creative insightful blogs out there. Though at first I thought why would anybody want to read or care what I had to say or think? I soon changed my mind.I do have something to say, to share. It is my outlet, its my therapy, its my quiet little peaceful world I get to create and inspire others. I would like the world to see through my eyes and come to find that beauty is bestowed before us daily - So take note. I like to encourage my readers to open the eyes of their heart and find that extraordinary lives in every ordinary day we are alive. Blogging inspires me to create, reminds me to stop and smell the flowers, and encourages me to cherish those precious moments God gives us. Life... is...so beautiful" And for this, I am grateful.

My little dog

My little dog - A heartbeat at my feet. - Edith Wharton
Ok, so I read that one of the "pet peeves" of people reading blogs, is too many pictures of their pet's. So sorry. I love my little Bella-boo so much and I constantly snap shots of her. I thought this one was so cute. This is my favorite chair, I got it at Round Top a few yrs ago. Its my desk chair where I sit and write and create. But she has seemed to adopt it as her "Own"comfy chair too, when it is not occupied. The queen on her thrown. She is so spoiled, but Such a joy.
Have a marvelous week-end

Valley's and Mountaintop's

We are here for a purpose. Our circumstances have a purpose in shaping who we are. Though life has it's highs and lows we come to realize life is not here for the sole purpose of our pursuit of happiness, but rather the opposite. The valley's in our life help us appreciate the mountain tops times and we begin to gain a sense of who we are and a gratefulness for life. Life's up's and down's shape us into the people who we decide to be. We are all just regular people with struggles and joys as we journey along. Though we can mask our deep heart struggles with a smile to the world, eventually we have to deal with the core of ourselves. When people begin to take down their masks and be venerable with each other,we have a responsibility to each other as human beings. To lift each other up in prayer, encourage and be there for one another. And as someone in need we need to realize we need others to help us along our way and accept the help. learn to lean on others when you need to.
We all know someone in need. Are you there for them? and if you are struggling have you taken down your smile and learned the art of "leaning?"

Clean House

Today I spent the day cleaning house. We have had company for the past two weeks so house work had been pushed aside. I moved furniture, cleaned cabinets, swept, dusted, mopped. Wow, amazing how dust accumilates in the small corners when unattended.I felt such a sense of peace.
So how is your Soul? When was the last time you cleaned house? Its time again, clean house of your Soul. Sweep mop, move furniture, get into those unattended corners that have been pushed aside. Make it sparkle. Find Peace. Nothing like a clean soul:)

Suppertime

What's for Supper?
Last week my husband said he didn't want to eat meat any more. I took it serious. Ive gone a month with-out meat and it wasn't so hard.( and bonus, I lost weight) So I immediately looked on line for a veggie recipe. These Kabobs were yummy. So I thought, until my "meat and potato's man" came home and wanted to know where the meat was? Who understands men? So needless to say this is not a do-over unless it is with a side of cow. Email if you want the recipe. It was fast and easy.
So what is for supper tonight? email some recipes. lisa.loraine@yahoo.com

Conversations in a Tea House

My brother came to visit last week. He gave me something special. His undivided attention. We Just talked. How many people will sit down with you, ask how you are doing and really sit and listen. We really had a good time, but it made me really miss and question, who do I really sit and talk to. Really getting to the heart of things. I used to have those people in my life. Now life is so busy, people are busy, life is busy.
A challenge: Connect with a friend on a personal level this week. Really ask how they are doing and give the gift of time... and really listen. listen with your heart. Relationships can be so rich and such a blessing. Make time... it will really make a difference to someone.

Some Day

Is your life what you thought it would be? Have you become the person you sought out to become? Dont wait to be that person "Some day" Be that person today. Take those steps to becoming the wonderful person you were born to be. One step at a time. Dont worry that it is too late, for it is never too late to "become." Begin Now.
....Some day Ill wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are far
behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops.
Away above the chimney tops,
Thats where you'll find me....

Wild Flowers

Every year, around April, these wonderous wild flowers arrive in full bloom. I say to myself next year, I will plant some. I was admiring these on the nxt block from where I live, and had to take a snap shot. Just admiring them from the sidewalk brings me great joy. Stop and smell the flowers in your life. Small things can bring such delight and make the heart feel light.
